In the San Antonio healthcare market, HealthComp has partnered with Baptist Integrated Health Partners and H-E-B to offer a unique solution that can help employers address and control rising healthcare and pharmacy costs. These partners will be discussing their unique offering and how it can achieve significant savings at an upcoming “Lunch and Learn” event (see the below for details).
For our blog series, we interviewed Lizette Day, MSN, FNP-C, Regional Clinical Director, Tenet ACO Networks (part of Baptist Integrated Health Partners), about the partnership, solution and upcoming event. Lizette Day is a Family Nurse Practitioner in San Antonio, Texas and has more than 13 years of nursing experience.
Lizette, you’ll be participating in the “Lunch and Learn” event with HealthComp, sharing information with local San Antonio employers about a unique healthcare solution. What role does your organization play in this solution?
We believe our role and what we can contribute is vital because we recognize the main drivers of healthcare costs as being the chronic and complex conditions that can lead to frequent ER visits or ultimately hospitalizations. Baptist Health System and our network of high performing physicians are committed to quality and cost efficiency as well as increasing patient access all while maintaining continuity of care. We are able to better manage costs through our technology integration which provides our clinical care teams with access to important data needed to effectively manage the health of members.
What would you say is unique about this solution?
We uniquely offer a qualified team of care coordinators and nurses that guide members so that they receive the right care, at the right time and in the right setting. The health team works closely with Baptist Health System’s network of 6 acute care hospitals, 7 Micro Hospitals, 9 urgent care centers, 12 imaging centers, 15 outpatient physical therapy centers, and 5 endoscopy centers. This close partnership with the health system and Baptist Integrated Health Partners allows patients a variety of access points throughout the city that are committed to delivering the best quality care possible. Therefore, we can help navigate members on where to go and when for their specific healthcare needs. We proactively reach out to members with information about important preventative health screenings, help set up annual wellness visits, and provide coordination of care as they transition from various stages of care.
What do employers stand to gain?
Employers stand to gain cost savings through patient care that is coordinated by providers who are dedicated to improving the health outcomes of their patients and ultimately lowering healthcare costs. Our integrated network leads to better care and reduced duplication of services.
What about employees? How does this solution help meet their health and wellness needs?
Employees benefit from care coordination across the continuum. Our local team of qualified nurses and coordinators reach out to members by phone but also offer to provide in-person care coordination with close collaboration with the member’s primary care doctor and/or specialists who are in our network. We take a personal approach and appeal to what motivates and helps a member in successfully self-managing their overall health.
Thank you, Lizette, for participating in our blog series!
