Jose serves as the CEO of HealthComp. He has more than 25 years of experience managing global P&Ls in healthcare and business services organizations. Most recently, Jose was General Manager and Head of Business Process Services Markets at Cognizant. Previously, he served as Global Managing Director of Health and Public Service and the Custom BPO Services Divisions at Accenture. He started his career at McKinsey and later went on to hold senior leadership positions at ADP. Jose earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and a Masters/Bachelors in Engineering from MIT.

Marty has been President and Principal of BAS since 1983. In 2017, BAS merged with Alpine Investors and created a Holding company called HealthComp Holdings. HealthComp Holdings employs over 600 associates with locations in Chicago and Fresno and services more than 330,000 member lives.
Leading the Sales and Marketing efforts of HealthComp Holdings, Marty has grown the company from only administering employee benefit plans to offering a full array of cost management solution services. Marty has developed the organizations capabilities to become an industry leader in Third Party Administration.
Marty graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

Tom serves as the Chief Growth Officer at HealthComp. In this role, Tom focuses on strategic initiatives aimed at accelerating HealthComp’s growth nationwide. His passion lies in assessing market and enterprise structures and creating efficiencies that enable teams to deliver best-in-class performance.
Previously, Tom led Cigna’s largest employer segment, largest region which was comprised of several health plans including the two largest health plans. He worked closely with Market Presidents and their leadership teams to develop and execute local market strategy and deliver growth for the enterprise. Tom earned his degree from Saint Anselm College and holds certifications from The Wharton School and the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. In his spare time, he enjoys sailing and holds a Master Captain’s license with the U.S. Coast Guard. He is also active in community outreach programs including local food bank and shelter services.

Scott serves as the Chief Operating Officer of HealthComp. He has more than 30 years of experience managing benefits administration organizations. Most recently, Scott was COO at Evolent Health Services. Previously, he served in executive leadership roles at Independence Blue Cross and Coventry Health Care. He started his career at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Delaware as a Customer Service Representative and eventually became that company’s COO.
Scott earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware. He’s a former marathoner and black belt and is the author of an award-winning novel.

Keri serves as the Executive Vice President of Product & Account Management of HealthComp. Previously, Keri was on the investment team at Audax Private Equity Group where she focused on the healthcare vertical. She executed 19 acquisitions while at Audax. She started her career in investment banking at Rothschild. Keri received her MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.

Justin serves as the Senior Vice President of Medical Cost Management at HealthComp. He has 8 years of experience in developing and delivering solutions that reduce health care costs, improve quality, and provide a best-in-class experience for members. Most recently, Justin was an Associate Partner and business unit leader at McKinsey & Company where he helped large carriers and healthcare technology companies build new clinical services and solutions for fraud, waste, and abuse. Justin earned his B.S. in Accounting and Data Informatics from Indiana University, Bloomington.

Justin has been in the employee benefits industry for over 18 years. Previous to joining BAS, Justin worked for Principal Financial Group, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network (SEBS), and Gallagher Benefit Services. Justin’s expertise in “Analytics & Insights” stems from years of working with employers directly and through broker/consultants. Justin was also the Communications Director & President of the Middle Tennessee Association of Health Underwriters prior to moving to Illinois.
Justin’s Perspective: “As the employer sponsored benefits arena continues to evolve at an unprecedented speed, it is imperative that flexibility, cost savings, and overall client experience are maximized.”
Justin and his wife currently live in Mokena, IL. His free time is spent with his family and friends enjoying time in the city and traveling out west.

Jeff serves as Chief Information Officer for HealthComp with over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Jeff began his career with Mutual Assurance Administrators (MAA) in Oklahoma City. While at MAA Jeff lead integration of IT infrastructure for multiple company acquisitions to common core claims system and designed the company’s Business Intelligence solution. Jeff has served as a panelist for technology classes on best practices in utilizing the Company’s core claims processing system and he maintains memberships in various technology user groups. Jeff attended Central State University where he majored in Computer Science.

James joined BAS Health in 2007 and currently serves the organization as COO/CIO. Responsible for aligning technology strategies, innovations and capabilities with BAS’s developing business needs, client requests and future strategies to capitalize on market, competitive offerings, and customer opportunities.
James earned his MBA with a concentration in Strategic Leadership and holds undergraduate degrees in technology and business marketing.
Investing time into his family remains his highest priority through traveling, educational trips and outdoor activities. James remains an active part of his local community and has served on multiple local boards; including three terms as an elected public servant on the county board.

Tucker previously worked for The Boeing Company in a number of finance and strategy roles, most recently as a finance lead for the Transactions and New Business Development group. In this role Tucker led investments and strategic partnerships for Boeing’s Space and Communications portfolio. Tucker earned his MBA at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business and his Bachelors of Science at the University of Redlands.

Tom is involved in multiple areas of HealthComp including Operations, Compliance and Legal Affairs. Tom was admitted to the California Bar in 1990 and started his legal career with Stammer, McKnight, Barnum and Bailey, LLP. When he left the firm to join HealthComp in 2014, he was the Managing Partner (he had represented HealthComp since 2003). In private practice Tom’s areas of focus included healthcare and transactional work. Tom holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration-Finance from California State University Fresno and received his Juris Doctorate from San Joaquin College of Law.

Jose spent 2 decades working for Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna and Collective Health, where he worked with brokers and consultants serving large group and National Account markets. He earned his undergraduate and MBA degrees from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles. Jose lives with his family in southern CA. They love traveling, outdoor activities and watching movies together.

Brooke has over a decade of experience in the healthcare industry. Prior to HealthComp, Brooke worked at UnitedHealth Group as a National Account Strategic Client Executive (SCE) on both the UnitedHealthcare and UMR platforms. Prior to her role as an SCE, Brooke worked for Aetna as a Senior Account Manager in National Accounts. In each of these roles, she partnered with brokers and large enterprise clients on all aspects of employee benefits plans including strategy, financials, clinical programs, communications, reporting and data analysis.
In her spare time, Brooke loves to travel, spend time with friends and family, and teach and practice yoga. While she has found some great yoga studios in the Atlanta area, her favorite classes are at home where she can practice with her husband and dogs, Osceola and Gambino.
Brooke holds a Bachelor degree in International Business, Marketing from Howard University in Washington, D.C.

Previously, Jim worked for the biotech firm Genomic Health as an Oncogenomic Liaison, as well as for leading pharmaceutical companies Johnson & Johnson and Astra Zeneca. Jim earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Southern California.

Micah serves as Director of Sales at HealthComp for the Midwest. He has more than 15 years’ experience in helping employers and consultants develop benefits solutions that reduce health care costs and provide a best-in-class experience for members. Micah was Regional Sales Director at another large TPA before joining HealthComp in 2020. Micah is passionate about helping our clients reduce their medical spend while providing better quality care. He has experience in direct contracts, reference-based pricing, narrow networks, PBM contracts, point-of-service solution partners and many other cost containment solutions. Micah earned degrees in Marketing and Economics from Pittsburg State University and an MBA from Friends University.

Shane holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Information Technology from Marquette University. Shane joined BAS in 2015 as a Sales Executive servicing the Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Ohio, and Tennessee territories. Prior to BAS, Shane worked at MetLife and Sun Life Financial as an Account Executive selling Dental, Vision, Life and Disability products. Shane started at BAS on the service side learning the implementation process and backroom operations.
Shane’s Perspective: “The customized level of service that BAS is able to provide is what makes us different from our competition. Healthcare is a such a large line-item for companies today, they should be able to control the way their benefits are administered for their employees. Self-funding with a TPA is the most effective way for them to take the reins of their health plan spend and create the experience they want their employees to have.”
Shane is a proud Evans Scholar alumni and remains passionate about giving back to the Evans Scholar Foundation. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his friends and family, playing golf, and trying different restaurants in Chicago. He is a big fan of both Marquette University and Chicago Bulls basketball.

Prior to joining HealthComp, Kyle served as a Regional Sales Director for CoreSource, and a Sales and Client Development Executive for POMCO Administrators, Inc. Kyle holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Management from Fresno Pacific University, Fresno, California.

Elizabeth serves as the Director of Business Development at BAS, a division of HealthComp. Since 2013, Elizabeth has championed reference-based pricing (RBP) as an innovative solution to address rising health care costs. She helped develop BAS’s RBP service model and also established key partnerships with several RBP repricing vendors. In addition to RBP, Elizabeth is passionate about developing strategic health care solutions that reduce costs and connect members with better care. Her areas of expertise include analytics, stop-loss products, network strategies, regulatory compliance and plan design.
Elizabeth has over 15 years of experience in health plan administration. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Columbia College in Chicago, IL.

Coronavirus Update: Extended Deadlines for Health Plans
On April 28, 2020 the Department of Labor (DOL), Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Treasury Department issued a joint notice extending certain timelines for plan participants and beneficiaries to make critical health coverage and other decisions affecting benefits due to COVID-19. In general, as related to health care, the joint notice affects COBRA, special enrollment, claims, appeals and external reviews.
